Roughly 25 kms from the happening city of Coimbatore lie the bewitching cascades at
Kovai-Coutralam, a breeding ground of nature's beauty and affluence !
The new year beckoned me for a freakout with my comrades(my schoolmates) and I made up my mind to have a scenic rendezvous with these silvery-waters @ Kovai-Coutralam.
With a vague plan in mind, we started at 10 am from Coimbatore (Kovai) and arrived at the Kovai-Coutralam forest check gate in an hour and a half. Here we alighted and the forest officials broadcasted some guidelines to all tourists on the conduct and behaviour expected inside.
Getting our entry-passes and camera-tickets done, we moved on, had to walk for 5 kms into the forest and towards the mountain where these falls originated from. This was a nourishment indeed for our eyes !
We had the all those moments captured to our heart's content into our camera .. The road lay ahead, wide and calm, treading itself into deeper vegetation and getting burried into more intense leafy-darkness .. One could see a haze of sunlight sending sparkles through tiny fissures among the dense-wildness .. Mesmerizing indeed :-))
Sedated by these, we kept moving and neared the falls in 45 mins ..
A glance at these falls, lo and behold - we were spell-struck ..
A damsel of water clothed silvery-white came dancing down onto the rocks, splashing high, sending roars of excitement among the people !!
